Alternate Streams of Income

Having a way to supplement your main income stream is a great thing. I guess I had always known this, but it didn’t really dawn on me about the importance until I found a book on my dad’s book shelf called Multiple Streams of Income by Robert G. Allen. The book is fairly dated now, but it’s the thing that got me jump started in my basic money skills.

At my age there aren’t that many opportunities open to me for another stream. It’s just harder to do these things under the age of 18. One thing I have enjoyed and earned some money from though is online survey sites and the like.

I’ve tried many sites, but the only one I’ve consistently stayed with is Inboxdollars (affiliate link). You can do one survey a day, earning a dollar for almost all of them, also now they have profile surveys you can earn a smaller amount from. The name, if you noticed, implies you receive e-mails. This is true, and you earn about 2-6 cents from each e-mail you open and click the link, it’s really that easy. You get a $5 bonus for signing up, and $5 and a portion of earnings from e-mail readings for every person you sign up, try it and see what you think.

For more sites, check out this post on Single Guy Money and this post on I’ve Paid for this Twice Already. They discuss each one and have comments about them too.

I’ll ask the same thing they have, what sites have you had luck with? And I’ll go a step further, what are some other ideas you have for alternate streams of income?
